This document addresses the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) of Mondeum Capital, LLC (“Mondeum Capital”). The purpose of this plan is to ensure Mondeum Capital’s uninterrupted operations and/or restoration of its business and operations in the most efficient and timely manner in case of an internal or external Significant Business Disruption (SBD). Mondeum Capital clears its securities business through RQD Clearing, LLC (“RQD”). RQD Clearing carries accounts and maintains the assets of Mondeum Capital clients.
Mondeum Capital maintain records regarding our relationship with you, our client, and our business. Mondeum Capital uses a cloud-based service that backs up and stores records on remote servers. Cloud-based record retention permits files to remain readily available in the event of a system failure, outage or natural disaster. Additionally, RQD Clearing maintains records regarding your account, transactions, and holdings and backs up those records in a geographically separate area from its primary business location. While every emergency situation poses unique problems based upon external factors, such as time of day and the severity of the disruption, we have been advised by RQD Clearing that its objective is to restore its own operations and be able to complete existing transactions and accept new transactions and payments within a reasonable period of time. Your orders and requests for funds and securities could be delayed during this period.
A disruption can be caused by any accidental, natural or man-made malicious event that threatens or does disrupt normal operations or services for sufficient time to affect significantly, or cause failure to, an organization.
Business disruptions, by their nature, can vary greatly in size, scope and duration. In a disruption to only our firm or a building housing our firm, we will recover our backed-up data and transfer our operations to a local site when needed and expect to recover and resume business within one business day. In a disruption affecting our business district, city, or region, we will transfer our operations to a site outside of the affected area and recover and resume business within three business days. In either situation, we plan to continue in business and notify you through our website.
Our goal is to quickly recover and resume business operations after an SBD and respond by safeguarding our employee’s lives and the Firm’s property, making a financial and operational assessment, quickly recovering and resuming operations, protecting all of the Firm’s books and records, and allowing our customers to transact business. In short, our BCP is designed to permit us to resume operations as quickly as possible, given the scope and severity of the SBD.
Our BCP addresses: data back-up and recovery; all mission critical systems; financial and operational assessments; alternative communications with customers, employees, and regulators; critical suppliers, contractors, banks and counter-party impact; regulatory reporting; and assuring our customers prompt access to their funds and securities if we’re unable to continue our business.
Mondeum Capital plans takes into account two kinds of SBDs, internal and external. Internal SBDs affect only the Mondeum Capital’s ability to communicate and do business, such as a fire or loss of electrical power in the office or building. External SBDs prevent the operation of the securities markets or a number of firms, such as a terrorist attack, a natural disaster, or another event that causes a wide-scale, regional disruption in essential services.
In the event of a disruption in Mondeum Capital’s business operations due to an internal SBD, we will attempt to continue to conduct business as usual by utilizing alternative communication methods (if available), such as the Internet, cell phones, etc., or by moving operations to an alternative location(s), such as remote work.
In the event of a disruption in the Mondeum Capital’s business operations due to an external SBD, we will attempt to continue to conduct business as usual by moving its operations to an alternative location outside the affected area, if possible, or by providing customers with alternative communication arrangements, as indicated below, to conduct business or to access their funds and securities.
Mondeum Capital will attempt to resume business as promptly as possible and to keep its customers informed regarding relevant events to the best of its ability based on the circumstances. In all cases, the Company will resume normal business operations as soon as it is able to do so, based on the type and the extent of the disrupting event. If the SBD is so severe that it prevents us from remaining in business, we will assure our customer’s prompt access to their funds and securities.
